SEPA Direct Debit Service of SIX Group

In cooperation with SECB Swiss Euro Clearing Bank, SIX Interbank Clearing and SIX Paynet have been offering a new direct debit service since November 2, 2009. Based on the schemes by the European Payments Council (EPC), the offer is aimed at financial institutions in Switzerland and 31 other countries within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) that would like to offer their customers the option of collecting standardized euro direct debits throughout Europe.

The new joint service package was developed by SIX Interbank Clearing and SIX Paynet together with the SECB on behalf of the Swiss financial center and with the participation of Swiss financial institutions. The service provides financial institutions of all sizes the option of outsourcing the processing of SEPA direct debits. SIX Group and the SECB provide the technical requirements for the rule-confirming processing of SEPA direct debits throughout Europe. This means that financial institutions throughout the SEPA zone can introduce euro direct debits for their customers easily, quickly and inexpensively without having to make expensive adaptations to their internal payment traffic infrastructure.

SECB and SIX Group – Your partner for SEPA direct debits

In unison with the pan-European introduction of the SEPA Direct Debit Scheme by the European banking industry on November 2, 2009, Swiss financial institutions are also able to process SEPA direct debits using the SEPA service offered by SIX Group and SECB.

Simple, fast and inexpensive

Financial institutions of all sizes can easily and rapidly introduce SEPA direct debits for their customers: An Internet connection is all that is needed and your financial institution will be reachable from throughout the SEPA zone – you can save everything else! The SECB and SIX Group provide a complete offer that ensures that your creditors and debtors can profit from the new direct debit scheme.

The offer is attractive because your financial institution need not bother with XML conversions, with receiving collections from your creditors nor with a connection to a SEPA-compatible clearing and settlement mechanism (CSM). This also means that you do not need to make investments in your e-banking application.

The complete offer at a glance

  • An e-banking solution for creditors
  • A solution for the creditor’s bank
  • A solution for the debtor’s bank
  • Connection to CSM/PE-ACH
  • Financial settlement of all transactions
